Whew! The month of March is over! On the one hand, I feel as though it’s gone by quite quickly, while on the other hand, I’m busy marveling at just how much stuff happened this past month, and just how busy I have been. As this exhaustive Best Of will show, I’ve been quite busy.
Personal Life
The month began on Saturday, March 1st with the SAT Reasoning Test–my very first one. Talk about a long test early in the morning…sheesh! I did get some pretty good scores for my first SAT though, although not quite as high as I had hoped. I’m probably going to do another go at the test in October.
The first part of the month saw me very busy catching up on the schoolwork and homework that I missed while I was on Sojourn. Luckily, I did somewhat better than I expected and was 98% caught up on everything within two weeks of returning from Sojourn, and I got fully caught up by Spring Break. It did take some time away from other things, though.
On Sunday, March 2nd, the new staff of the Teen Podcasters Network got together for a Skype conference call where we discussed some things and made some plans moving forward. Later that week, TPN Channel Editor Billy Hime and I recorded the first episode of the Teen Podcasters Network Podcast (TPNP), marking (at the time) my third podcast. We’re planning to make the podcast a half hour podcast that we’ll release approx. biweekly.
On Sunday, March 9th, I did a presentation about Sojourn to the Past to the local group I volunteer for, which would have gone better had the tech not fallen apart so much. *shrug* That’s technology for you.
I had another State PTA board meeting (this time in San Jose) during March 13-15. I didn’t blog about this one because I wasn’t flying there and because the schedule for this one was essentially identical to the last two that I went to and did blog about. However, at this meeting, we did get our schedules for the Convention coming up at the end of April/early May, which I will be blogging more about when the date gets closer.
On Sunday, March 16th, I was invited to the anniversary luncheon of the San Mateo chapter of the NAACP to read my Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay that I wrote.
Thursday, March 20th was my school’s Open House, and since I’m in my school’s orchestra, we’ve been working for the past few weeks in chamber groups, and each of our groups was to perform what we had been working on in a different part of the school during part of the evening. Between that and a thing I did in Spanish class for some extra credit (involving us singing some Spanish songs), I was pretty much kept working through the whole evening at Open House.
Last week, March 24-28, was Spring Break (yay!), and while it wasn’t as productive as I would have liked, I did do some college visits, which overall was a great experience. (I also worked on a red herring for StarTrekGuide.com, which was fun.)
