Sojourn Diaries: Day 2–Friday, February 15th NewsFire Is Now Free!
Mar 01

Well, February is over. Traditionally it’s the shortest month of the year, although this year’s got boosted with an extra day. I was very excited that I didn’t get sick in February for once in my life, so I guess flu shots are good things after all. :)

Personal Life
The majority of this month focused on my Sojourn to the Past trip, including packing, preparation, actually going on the trip, and then (as of this week), making up homework on it. So that took care of most of that.
However, I did spend the February 5th “Super Tuesday” election working a 15-hour day through the student poll worker program, which was a lot of fun. I talked about that in this blog article.
On Saturday, February 9th, my father was involved in a car accident. It wasn’t my father’s fault at all, it was the other guy who came over to the wrong side of the road on a very narrow freeway overpass (that has been made even more narrow by recent Caltrans construction). However, it pretty much totaled my mom’s 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser (which only had a year’s worth of payments left on it), so while I was gone on my trip, my parents got a used 2007 Toyota Prius to take its place. They seem to like it, particularly how much more fuel efficient it is compared to the 22 MPG PT Cruiser (here in $3.50/gallon San Francisco area).
I also found out this month that I’ve become a staff member of Teen Media Productions, which heads the Teen Podcast Network.
