Hello everyone,

I know that has been a long time waiting for Webmacster87.info 5. I personally was hoping to have it out awhile ago, and the site is actually mostly finished and has been sitting in its super-secret location on this server for awhile now.

The main reason that the site is not out yet is because the brand new header/logo for the site is not ready yet. As you know, Hans (macattacks10) is working on an AWESOME brand-new header (I’ve seen a couple of parts of it already) for the site, and at this point, I’d say he’s about half-way done, having finished the hardest part of the new header. I came to him with a request which I thought would be near-impossible, and he apparently has pulled the hardest part of it off.

It has been difficult though because he recently graduated from high school, had to go out of town for his job, and has been very busy recently. I have not had a problem with this–after all, he’s doing this header (and has done many more in the past) without any compensation whatsoever. I have been totally understanding when he has had to put some other task as a higher priority.

Because of this, I have had to keep on delaying the release of the new website. I was hoping to have something out in time for WWDC, then by the end of last week, and then at the beginning of this week (aka right now). I know that a lot of people are really excited to see this brand new site that I’ve been hinting about and teasing about for the last few weeks, and you have good reason to be excited. I do want to thank Hans for putting up with me for the last few weeks and for dedicating as much free time as he could on this project. Now that the major Photoshop obstacles have been overcome, he’s hopeful that it will be finished within the next few days, and so I hope to be able to take the new site live around the end of the month.

Following the release of Webmacster87.info 5, many of its new features will be coming to the PreviewCast and phpBB Weekly websites during the week following the unveiling. I’ll be making announcements on those sites regarding downtime to add the new features and make general updates to WordPress, PodPress, themes, etc.
