This kid was a student at UCLA of middle-eastern race, and was specifically targeted by the library when they asked for his student ID. He refused, and the campus police came in and tasered him 5 times, ordering him to get up immediately after each shot (which is impossible to do), and then zapping him again.
What is wrong with our world today? Why can these things be allowed to happen in the United States of America?

Well, when Larry offered invites to MacHeist a week ago, few people (including myself) knew what it was. But Larry sent me an invite, and I got to find out. Now, it seems that every Mac podcast on the intarweb has talked about it this past week, so if you pay any attention at all to the Mac web, you should know what MacHeist is by now. If not, Google it.
Anyway, I’ve already scored over $50 in completely legal, free software, and I didn’t have to do any advertisement survey filling out or anything to do it! It’s really quite fun. And, I’ve got 7 fresh-from-the-vine invites to hand out! The first heist is done, so sorry, but there’s still 5 more left to participate in!
So, want to heist up some cool software for your Mac? I’ve got invites! If you want one, you must do three things for me.
1) Create the Perfect Thanksgiving dinner.
2) Pledge to download and listen to this weekend’s Thanksgiving episode of PreviewCast (yes, there WILL be one).
3) Make a comment to this post to submit yourself for my consideration of inviting you. You should state why you should deserve an invite from me and you MUST tell me how you set up your Perfect Thanksgiving dinner (see #1).
So, happy cooking and happy heisting!

Did you buy the Texas Hold’Em game on iTunes for your 5th-gen iPod? Well, looks as though you’re playing against the likes of Phil Schiller, Greg Joswiak, and perhaps others! Those Apple guys are weird.

I’d like to remind everyone to please pretty pretty please take some time out today to go vote. The democracy of the United States of America is based on the foundation of the vote, and if you don’t vote, then you’re simply hindering this democracy. Please speak out and have a say in who your leaders are! If you are 18 or older, vote today! Encourage everyone you know 18 or older to go vote! When you vote, take an “I Voted” sticker and wear it proudly! The polls are open from 7 AM-8 PM, and if you don’t know where to go, find your local precinct!
(Also, if you live in the San Mateo Union High School District area, vote for Measure M. Myself and all the other students in my school struggling to learn in hot classrooms w/ no windows or air conditioning will really thank you!)

Tyler Stoken was a well-behaved fourth grader who enjoyed school, earned A
’s and B’s and performed well on standardized tests. So why was he suspended for a week after refusing to answer a question on the Washington State Assessment of Student Learning Exam?
It is absolutely amazing and horrible how much schools are teaching students to the test. Wake up folks! When you only teach students how to take a test, you are not preparing them for the real world. The real world is not full of multiple choice questions and teaching students when to fill in A, B, C, or D. I think many public schools these days are forgetting this, and if this is not reformed, our future as a country is going to be one as the dumbest country on earth.
The principal of this school should be reprimanded for this.
