I often like to take a look back down memory lane on Wikipedia’s This Day in History pages. There is a whole long list of stuff for the past on Halloween, for example, did you know that Harry Houdini passed away 80 years ago today?

Check out the article.

Just a reminder that tonight, for most folks in the United States, everyone will be “falling back” to standard time tonight, effective at 2 AM. This means that there’s going to be 1 AM for two hours. Yep, that’s right. If you work from 12 AM-8 AM, you’ll be working a 9 hour shift on Sunday night!

Anyway, for those of us who don’t work late night shifts, just remember to set your clock one hour back before you go to bed tonight or when you get up in the morning. Enjoy the extra hour to sleep or do whatever! (I know that I will.) ;)
2006 will be the last year for a while that Daylight Savings Time goes from the first Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October. Beginning next year, in the USA, DST will be going from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November. Yes, it’s going to be getting very dark in the mornings!

Anyway, as the official clock-setter for my house, I’m ready to go! :)

Sorry about the lack of posts this past week. I’ve been very busy this past week catching up on some stuff because I got a tad bit behind on my homework.

I am very proud to announce that after a lot of hard work, I am now fully caught up on all my homework! Yay! :)
In the meantime, Firefox 2 has been released, for real, and I’m really excited. The latest release is very solid and complete, and I love it. (I can already hear Larry sneering at me.)

And yes, one way or another, there WILL be an episode of PreviewCast sometime this weekend. A lot has happened during the past two weeks, so it will be a packed episode!

If an e-mail contains Chinese or Japanese letters, there’s a 99.9% chance that it’s spam. And even if it’s not, it should probably be marked as such anyway, since I don’t read Chinese or Japanese. Please stop letting so much spam through!

Hello everyone, and welcome to my new-old blog, Webmacster87 @ WordPress.com!

As we all know, Webmacster87.info has been down for over a month. This was because my host, BuffetHosting (aka skoker) was terrible, and finally gave up the ghost. I won’t complain too much since I wasn’t paying much for it anyway.

Anyway, during the time that the site was down, I had thought about signing up with a new web hosting company (paid, this time) to host my website. However, I started thinking about this. During the recent months, Webmacster87.info had ceased to be anything beyond a blog. I used to use the webspace for installing numerous phpBB installations for testing my MODs and validating other people’s MODs, however, I’m not doing that stuff anymore. Although I prefer the flexibility of a self-hosted installation of WordPress, I decided that I don’t have the funds needed to pay a bunch of money just for a simple blog, when I can get something almost equivalent for free.

So, that’s what I’ve done. I’ve taken over this blog (formerly called Eeek! Webmacster87 lives at WordPress.com!) which was once just a placeholder blog set up so that I could get an API Key for Akismet, and have transformed it into a refresh of Webmacster87.info. Sure, it doesn’t have everything I want, like some certain plugins or the ability to redirect all feed traffic to FeedBurner. But for now, it’s good enough, and it’s going to be my blog.

The site feed is still at http://feeds.feedburner.com/webmacster87 so if you were subscribed to Webmacster87.info, you’re now subscribed to Webmacster87 @ WordPress.com. Unfortunately, if you try to click on the browser autodiscovery link on this site, you’ll be subscribed to the direct WordPress.com feed instead of the shiny FeedBurner one. I’ve sent in some begs to the folks at WordPress.com and hopefully they’ll respond. As for the old posts? They’re gone, because importing them would be a big hassle and I want to start fresh.

Anyway, celebrate, because my rants, ramblings, and digg stories will be coming back to the intarweb!
